EDUCATION
During
the treatment, children need to be in sterilized conditions
for a complete remission, and in some phases of the treatment,
children must be hospitalized. During this long period,
our children cannot go to school. This is a great obstacle
for their education. But LÖSEV is doing its best to cope
with this problem and increase children's education levels.
We have prepared a house with a rich library in order to
provide children music, painting, English, computer, drama,
culture, art and Turkish courses with our volunteer teachers
in special classrooms.
Within
the framework of national education mobilization, LÖSEV
provides scholarship for nearly 50 children with Leukemia.
We aim to increase this number with the intensive supports
from the private sector, companies and organisations. We
also visit our children's schools to inform the teachers
about their life-threatening illness. We provide their educational
requirements and even their school uniforms.
Education
is very important for LÖSEV. Because LÖSEV is aware that
these children will grow up to become a doctor, lawyer,
executive manager, maybe even a hematology specialist or
perhaps the President of Turkish Republic.
HEALTH
In
LÖSEV, we are trying to create solutions for all kinds of
health problems of the children with Leukemia. When they
need blood, our foundation reaches its volunteers, makes
announcements in crowded centres or even asks for media
support to find the appropriate blood. It also provides
expensive medicines for patients who cannot afford them.
LÖSEV is paying even the patient's travel expenses to help them follow their treatment regularly.
Besides
all these services, it gives free treatment service to hundreds
of children with Leukemia, with its hematology specialists
(hematologists) and general pediatricians. Aiming to give
better health services to our children, LÖSEV has a very
big project of " HOSPITAL OF CHILDREN WITH LEUKEMIA". Knowing
that Leukemia treatment is very difficult for the children
and their families, LÖSEV also provides psychological support.
In some cases, LÖSEV helps children to have a treatment
abroad.
Now,
LÖSEV wants to find common cooperation fields with the national
and international foundations, organizations, hospitals,
etc... to spread a little sunshine to the lives of those
wonderful children.
SOCIAL
ACTIVITIES
LÖSEV
gives great importance to get its children participate in
all kinds of cultural and social activities. We don't miss
latest theatrical shows and movies. Apart from field trips
to museums, zoos and children's parks; LÖSEV also organises
tours to cities where we can provide visual education for
our children about our countries natural and cultural beauties.
Just a few of
the activities that we have realised up to now;
The
winter semester holiday that we passed in Northern Cyprus,
was warm and had a friendly atmosphere.
A
Trip to Cappadoce: In the summer of 2001, we visited the
famous Cappadoce.
Happy
Birthday to LÖSANTE: We celebrated the 1st year of our
Hospital for Children with Leukemia (Lösante) in its garden.
We
organized first "Art Exhibition of Children with
Leukemia" in Þekerbank Ömer Sunar Art Gallery
in September 2001.
HORSEBACK RIDING CLUB: Our volunteers
Mr. & Mrs. GÖCEK organized a very interesting and amazing
day for us.
Famous Turkish Singer
MUAZZEZ ERSOY was perfect in her concert at the Sheraton Hotel
and we really exuberated during the concert.
We were invited to the WHEEL OF FORTUNE,
so that we could create an awareness in the society and
win presents for us at the same time.

Santa Claus visited
our children at the new year's night.
"THIS
IS ISTANBUL" TOUR: We had promised our children for
a long time to organise a tour to Istanbul that they really
were anxious because they watched it everyday on TV, they
read poems and books about it. The tour that we organised
on August 15-16,1999 was so didactic and entertaining that
we shall never forget it.
OTHERS...
Besides
all the other services, LÖSEV also gives advisory and legal
services to patients and their families in order to protect
them and show them the right way to follow.
