Now My Mum Has a Smiley Face

Social research conducted by our Foundation show that, families who have a leukemic child experience compulsory migration to big cities, where the necessary medical resources are available for the treatment of their children. The problems they face during the adaptation period to city life and demanding conditions of leukemia treatment, prevent family participation as contributing individuals in civil society.

With the help of this project, it was aimed to encourage especially mothers to defend their rights, to raise healthy children, and contribute to the family budget through their increased levels of knowledge and awareness. It was also planned to organize educational activities for the fathers in order to increase their awareness of the disease, change their negative attitudes, and correct their misbeliefs, resulting in blame and pressure applied to the mothers whom they accuse of being the cause of their child's illness.

WITH OUR SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE INSTITUTIONS AND
