Our Audit & Accountability Policy

At LÖSEV – Foundation for Children with Leukemia, we uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical resource management. Every contribution — financial or in-kind — is handled with care, documented, and utilized in direct service of children and families affected by cancer.
Our goal is simple and unwavering: to protect donor trust, ensure responsible spending, and maximize impact.

Your support brings treatment, education, housing, nutrition, and hope to children fighting leukemia. To honor this trust, we continuously strengthen our internal controls, improve monitoring systems, and align our governance practices with international NGO and United Nations accountability frameworks.

Together with our supporters, volunteers, and families, LÖSEV grows stronger and more effective every day.

Our Audit Principles & Transparency Framework

       • Every donation is officially receipted — from ₺1 to second-hand item contributions. No unregistered funds are accepted. All transactions are traceable and fully documented.

       • Financial records are maintained digitally under the standard accounting system mandated by the Ministry of Finance.

       • Even the smallest assistance is documented with a two-copy delivery report and archived in the beneficiary’s file.

       • Purchases — when necessary — are conducted by the Procurement Committee, based on minimum 3–4 quotations, prioritizing donated goods to minimize expenses.

       • All accounts kept by the Accounting Department are reviewed and co-signed by the Financial Affairs Coordinator, then audited by internal supervisory boards.

       • Independent external auditing firms review all financial operations annually, with additional verification by an internationally accredited sworn consultancy firm.

       • Our Internal Audit Unit conducts scheduled and unannounced inspections across all departments, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, efficiency in spending, and mission-aligned use of donations. Findings are formally reported.

       • As in all transparent and accountable NGOs, feedback from our volunteers, children, and families guides our continuous improvement cycle — their voice is a core audit reference.
